Thanks to the reflective thermal film, you can protect yourself and your family in the evening and at night. Its main difference from sewing tape is that the application of the film is more convenient, simple and takes less time.

How to use reflective thermal film

When exposed to high temperatures (about 100-150 degrees) hot glue tape quickly adheres to the surface of any fabric. To apply it to different parts of the garment, you need to go through several simple steps:

  1. First, there is a preparation of the required size segment of the reflective;
  2. Please note that it has two sides : the dark one must be directed towards the material (there will be a thermal transfer effect), the light one is the front and serves for ironing the film;
  3. It is recommended to carefully flatten the fabric where you are going to transfer the effect of light reflection, then attach the film tightly to it ;
  4. It is advisable to use a thin fabric (cotton) for the contact of the iron or heat press, the film will appear on the clothes after 4-5 seconds after using heat;
  5. The protective film can be removed only after the top layer has completely cooled down.

As you can see, it is not difficult to achieve the appearance of a reflective pattern on any fabric. Even non-professionals can do this at home.

What fabric is glued to

The polyurethane base can be easily glued to backpacks, cotton, raincoat fabric, stretch materials ... In order to cut out any shape (logo, drawing) from the film, a special cutting plotter is used.

The base of the thermal film, which is glued to the fabric, is made of high quality polyurethane material. It is glued very reliably and can withstand up to 40 washes without any problems (when choosing a gentle mode). In this case, the reflective effect does not disappear.

Many people are interested in the question of which film reflects the best light from headlights or lanterns. All products have a good reflective effect, as they are made on special equipment. If you want soft light that will be visible from a long distance, you can create the following categories in descending order:

  • Classic gray - 450 cd reflectance;
  • Black thermal film, white reflection - light reflectance 385 cd;
  • Reflective film with chameleon effect - coefficient 325 cd.

If you want to increase your safety in the dark, worry about your children, who play at dusk or return home late, you should think about purchasing thermal film.
